Book Review: Living Life In The Zone by Kyle Rote Jr. and Dr. Joe Pettigrew
Few things are as ubiquitous in today's society as sports. Living Life in the Zone is a 40 Day devotional book that attempts to capture that theme and challenge Christian men to grow in their spiritual life. It does both well. Peppered with testimonials and examples from well known sports figures, the book does a good job of blending popular sports culture with biblical principles in a very readable format. The daily readings are short enough to be completed each day and offer opportunities for discussion if used in a group setting.
I enjoyed the book overall, and would certainly recommend it to others. The quality of the book itself seemed unusually poor for a Thomas Nelson book, however. I'm guessing the book was published this way to make it cheaper for Bible study groups to use together, but in my case the cover ripped after only a few days use. If you're looking for a book that a men's group can use together that will catch the attention of most and challenge those with a desire to grow as a Christian this may be a good choice for you.
