Your Own Jesus contains a timely message for Christians today. In the book Mark Hall addresses our tendency to replace "serving Him" or "worshiping Him" for truly knowing Him. No more relying on the faith of others, it's time for us to have our own relationship with Christ - Your Own Jesus. The book, while written in a very non-confrontational style, is a challenge to get real and grow up in our faith. At times the writing felt a bit like Mark was talking to a youth group - not surprising given that he is a youth pastor. But before I could let myself off the hook because of my age, the book would challenge me and remind me that having my own relationship with Jesus is needed at all stages of life. In fact, walking with Jesus everyday is life.

I would recommend the book to anyone and everyone. The true life stories woven through the chapters add depth and meaning to the message. As an added bonus, fans of the group Casting Crowns will enjoy the way song lyrics have been applied to various sections of the book.
