The Empty Cage
The Empty Cage
Written and Typed By Katie Allen
One day Hunter, Jaden, and I went to the zoo. As we were walking by, there was an empty cage. It was Monks, the monkey’s cage. The monkey had gotten out. He saw the key to the cage on the pants pocket of the zoo manager. Monks stretched his hand out of the cage and quickly grabbed the key. He opened the door without the zoo manager seeing him. He ate bananas all day. I like to see him. He is cuter than anyone. I like him because he is cute. He likes to climb because he is a monkey . He climbed a big, tall Oak tree. While he was in the tree, he would throw acorns at people. He likes to go see the giraffes. He would hang on to their necks because he liked being high up in the air. He went to see his friend, Elle, the elephant. He liked to play with Elle. She would let him ride on her back and hang on her trunk. He likes Elle very much . Elle is one of Monks best, best friends. Elle is very, very, cute. I like Elle too. Monks likes to go see his best friend, Lover, the lizard. Lover is cute too. “I like him very much”, said Monks. The monkey went to see his friend Michael . Michael is the zoo manager’s pet cat and he is cute too. “I like him very much. He is fun to play with“ said Monks. The zoo manager found Monks playing with Michael in the office. The manager took him back to his cage. The cage was not empty anymore. Monks had a fun day. He likes all of his friends. The zoo manager liked it very much that he found Monks. I’m glad he found Monks too. The zoo manager likes Monks, too and did not want him to get in trouble for being out of his cage. Hunter, Jaden and I had fun at the zoo watching Monks the monkey escape from his cage and play with all of his friends.
