On the Anvil by Max Lucado (Nov 2007)
Started: November 2007
On the Anvil, by Max Lucado, is a collection of short poems, thoughts and stories. Each article is different in its format and content. The only tying thread for the articles is that they challenge us to think about our relationship with Christ. I am only about half way through it at this time, but my favorite quote thus far is from Chapter 3 titled "Now Don't Get Carried Away!" This section talks about Peter's denial of Christ:
Mark these words:
Follow at a distance and you'll deny the Master.Period
You won't die for a man you can't touch. Period.
But stay near to him, in his shadow...
You'll die with him, gladly.
It is definitely a good read for any Christian who likes to be challenged about their walk with Christ.
