Yesterday was another fun day for our family. We went to the zoo for the day. We initially had planned to hit the zoo before lunch, have a picnic lunch and then go to the Botanical gardens. When my wife and I created that plan we were alone. Somehow, when we get alone for just a few brief moments, we allow our minds to pretend that life with three kids is just like life when we were first married.

This week is vacation week. (Hence, the long-awaited updates.) The summer has been such a blur that we didn't plan our vacation at all. We are basically staying around the house. We may go camping later in the week, but even that is looking suspect.

So far we have accomplished a few items from our list: Zoo Trip, purchase embroidery machine, cut grass, fix storm door at kitchen. Maybe tomorrow Hunter and I will work on the pc project.

At least I'm not answering the phone, though, so I guess its a vacation.

Today our family celebrated the Fourth of July. (Yes, I know its the 5th, but we still celebrated.) So I thought that the site should at least get a passing update. Even if that update is a puny blog entry, it will help to add something to site.

Saturday was a fun day. Our family went to Cahaba Lily Day in West Blocton. We loaded up in the back of my dad's truck and rode down to the riverside. The lilies were in bloom and looked wonderful. (Although they were a bit more showy two weeks back when we were there.)

My children glanced briefly at the lilies and agreed that they are pretty. Their shallow "uh-huh" echoing a faint agreement with my expressed enthusiasm. They had one thing on their mind- getting wet. Read more »

I am still struggling to find time to update the site. Even with the holiday today, commitments and activities have kept me away all day. Some behind the scenes pages were added tonight, though, so progress is being made.
