I decided I couldn't let 09/09/09 go by without a blog post. After all, I am one of those crazy people who likes numbers. If you read the book "An Imaginary Tale" then you qualify as a numbers geek too.

Anyway, I was reading an article about the various views of 09/09/09 that I found on Twitter. (http://news.yahoo.com/s/livescience/20090908/sc_livescience/why090909iss...) While reading it the following paragraph stood out to me:

Sometimes it's the slightest comments that can break our hearts. That's how it happened to me today as I was checking out the trending topics on Twitter. One of the trending topics was a hashtag of #uknowyouuglywhen. If you're not familiar with hashtags they are codes put into twitter messages to group various messages together.

In this case someone had started a wave where people were posting jokes that began with "uknowyouuglywhen". I read through some of the tweets that were displayed in the list for #uknowyouuglywhen. I even laughed at a few of them. I was mostly annoyed by some of the language and topics, but other than that it seemed like nothing more than a boring game some people were playing on Twitter.
